Morocco beat Spain (3-0) and made history by reaching their first quarterfinal in a penalty shootout Tuesday. It also became the first Arab nation to make it to that stage of the World Cup.

After Spain missed three spot-kicks, Paris St-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi scored with a Panenka penalty that sparked celebrations in the stands. In the quarterfinal stage, Morocco will play Portugal.
